Solicit to Contest 2015 Tristarc Stakes First-Up

September 29th, 2015

Talented mare Solicit appeared to be on her way to the breeding barn following her recent Autumn Carnival preparation, however trainer Gerald Ryan has revealed the talented mare is in excellent condition ahead of a likely return in the 2015 Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on October 17th.

Solicit has been a strong and consistent performer through her 23 start career so far; posting an impressive five wins and seven minors in stint under the care of Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra in Melbourne and Ryan, since transferring to his Hawkesbury stables prior to the Autumn Carnival.

Pleased with the results posted by the mare through her maiden preparation under his care and the decision made to leave her in work for a final crack at success at the highest level, Ryan told AAP Solicit is continuing to progress well and will trial before a return in the 2015 Tristarc Stakes in a fortnight.

“Solicit is back in the stable and will run in a barrier trial on Tuesday,” Ryan said.

“David and Nick had her mother and half-sister and they said they got better as they got older so they have decided to race her for another season.

“The plan is to give her another trial on Friday week and go first-up into the Tristarc Stakes in Melbourne before the Myer Classic.”

Returning to racing in slick form in 2014, Solicit each of the Group 3 The Vanity (1400m) and Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1400m); progressing to second in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) but failing to beat a single runner home in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) a fortnight later.

Returning in similarly good form in spring, the Street Cry mare placed second in the Group 2 Stocks Stakes (1600m) and eighth in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) before finishing a credible fourth in the Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m) most notably.

Having won the Group 3 Darley Crown (1300m) and finished second in the Group 3 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) most notably this year, Solicit is sure to face a tough task in the likes of Catkins and Arabian Gold in the 2015 Tristarc Stakes.
