Having returned to racing in typically strong form this time in, Catkins has opened as and maintained status as outright favourite in Tristarc Stakes betting markets and is currently available at odds of $2.90 for success ahead of Sweet Idea ($3.30), Politeness ($5.50) and May’s Dream ($9) with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Will Catkins justify favouritism and win the 2014 Tristarc Stakes, or will one of her classy rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Catkins ($2.90)

Surprisingly yet to experience much more than a sprinkling of bets for success in Tristarc Stakes betting markets, Catkins has drifted from opening odds of $2.60 to current register at a quote of $2.90; offering punters great value. Securing a remarkable total of 12 race wins and a further eight minor places from her 25 competitive starts so far, the Dubawi mare securing victories in each of the Group 2 Breeders Classic (1200m), Group 3 Wiggle Stakes (1400m) and Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) most notably over six autumn and winter starts. Winning the Group 3 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) and finishing third in the Group 3 Golden Pendant (1400m) this time in, Catkins will be partnered by regular jockey Hugh Bowman in the 2014 Tristarc Stakes and is more than worth consideration for a bet.

2nd

Sweet Idea ($3.30)

Allocated the central barrier 6 and confirmed to be partnered by in-form jockey Tommy Berry, Sweet Idea arguably offers punters the best value for money in Tristarc Stakes betting markets and is worth consideration for a bet this weekend. Winning all of the Wyong Magic Millions Stakes (1200m) and Gold Coast Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) and Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) first-up this year, the Snitzel mare was unlucky to be blocked for a run and seventh in the Group 2 Surround Stakes (1400m) on March 8th, but almost responded in the best way possible when finishing a close second in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m). Winning the Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200m) first-up this time before running second in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) and fourth in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) last time out, Sweet Idea is a leading chance for success in the Tristarc Stakes.

3rd

Enquare ($15)

Quickly building to the task this time in, Enquare is likely to receive the run of the race from barrier 9 in the 2014 Tristarc Stakes and is a particularly good chance of delivering on $3.90 odds to place this weekend. Claiming three wins and a minor over her four 2013 spring starts, Enquare appears on track for another competitive preparation this time in after finishing a credible sixth in the Group 3 How Now Stakes (1200m) first-up before placing second in the Group 2 Blazer Stakes (1400m) last time out.
